Maximus

Max is a 2000 Nissan Xterra SE 4X4 Automatic

Basically stock except for a couple of add-ons which include SLR shackles, Bilstien shocks, an Aries Ram push bar w/ KC Daylighter's, and a Cobra 75 C.B. radio. Nothing much, but I plan on a whole lot more once the warranty expires. I'd like to add BFG mudder's size 31x10.50x15's, an ARB w/winch, 3 inch lift, rock sliders, rack, air lockers, and various other accessories.

Max was purchased in March of 2000 when I needed to upgrade from an Astro Van I owned. I needed something to tow our sandrail out to the dunes (which I still haven't done), Kerry said "How about an Xterra?" She was working as a Service Manager at a local Nissan dealership and really liked the look of them. I had seen Xterras on the road before and thought they looked kind of cool so I said "what the hell, OK". I only had a few requirements after checking into the vehicle which included SE, 4X4, automatic trans, and the color choice of Solar Yellow or Cloud White. We bought it at the dealer she was working at, I just told her my requirements and to see what they had. No Solar Yellow that met the requirements, but I was fine with white. She signed the papers and I got a ride from work to pick it up. I drove it off the lot and it was the first time I had ever driven an Xterra, not even a test drive. Kerry was sold on them and she has great judgment so it was OK by me.

What a great choice in vehicles, we love it. The Xterra has a style like no other vehicle. It's pretty amazing what it can do off road too. Even in stock configuration the Xterra will do things and go places that I would have never imagined, with a few modifications the possibilities are endless. The Xterra becomes somewhat of an addiction and then you realize there are others just like you in the way that you feel about the vehicle. I found some others who loved their Xterra as much as I did mine at the Xterra Owner's Club website. After that it was off and running with organizing the Arizona Xterra Club, what a ride! We've had so much fun going off road with Max that we sort of put aside the sandrail, which is why we bought the Xterra for in the first place.
